eSports Reaching New Heights in Playoffs

eSports had another strong week in Playoffs!
 
Marvel Rivals Team Rules Colorado and Reaches Mountain West Regional Finals
Marvel Rivals won in the round of Sixteen, beating American Leadership Academy 3-0.  They continued their domination beating Jarvis High School (Provo, Utah) 3-0 in the round of Eight.  They followed that up by crushing Thunderridge 3-0 in the Semifinals.  The Mountain Region of 94 teams includes CO, and extends from Texas to Canadian schools.  The team plays in the Finals on Thursday April 23rd against McCollum High School, San Antonio, TX. 
 
CHSAA Playoffs: Rocket League Reaches Final 4, and Mario Kart the Round of 8
Mario Kart won in the round of Sixteen, beating Rocky Mountain High School 2-1.  They lost an extremely tight game in the round of Eight to #1 Legend High School 2-1 in an overtime battle.  
 
Rocket League also won their round of Sixteen, beating McClave High School 4-2.  They followed that up in the round of Eight, beating Pueblo County High School 4-2.  Rocket League lost a hard fought battle to Chaparal in the Semifinals 4-2.  This is one round higher than they finished in the Fall.  We are very proud of their growth. 
 
Other major eSports news
Marvel Rivals team competed in the elite college tournament Rocky Mountain Collegiate Series over the weekend.  Eight college teams and three High School teams competed for Colorado bragging rights.  STEM finished 4th in the tournament.  In the second round, STEM competed against the CSU games.  The team took a game off the Rams to which they received very high praise.  CSU is considered the best Colorado collegiate Rivals team in NACE (the eSports equivalent to the NCAA).
 
With three weeks left in the season, Middle School Smash teams took on some very hard opponents and made a great showing!
