Spartan Athletics Report by Athletic Director- Susan Jones

Dear STEM School Highlands Ranch Families,

Oct. 6th, 2025

Wow! What a homecoming week! STEM had an event every single day this week! Between volleyball, soccer, Powder Puff Football and a Bonfire, the week was full of competition and camaraderie. All of our teams have done well and represented the STEM spirit with passion.

Girls Volleyball has had the busiest week. The team played three times, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. They defeated Two Roads on Monday and then William Smith on Wednesday. The team then had a PINK OUT game scheduled on Friday vs. Addenbrooke. The girls host a bake off, selling their items to raise money for Breast Cancer Research and awareness.

Boys Golf finished their season this week. Our team has done incredibly well, with our Varsity dominating several tournaments and our JV finishing better every week. Aarav Sing just missed qualifying for the State meet! Well done gentlemen.

HS Cross Country is running in the Foothills League Championship on Friday in Estes Park. The team has done very well this season with many runners posting new personal bests each week. Good luck runners!

MS Cross Country is running in the Runners Roost Invitational on Friday. Good luck!

The eSports Season is off to a strong start.  Two weeks into the season, the team is seeing great results.  Rocket League is our only CHSAA game this season.  Their record is 2-0 and are ranked 8/59 teams.

In the Mountain Region, Marvel Rivals Gold is leading the team with a 1-0 record.  Marvel Blue is off to a slower start but looking to close the gap very soon.  They have a 1-1 record and beat Heights High School.  Mario Kart is ranked 7/83 with a record 2-0.  Smash Gold is ranked 14/174 with a 2-0 record.  Smash Blue is ranked 82/174 with a 1-1 record. Valorant Gold is 22/55 with a 1-1 record.

Middle School is quickly getting up to speed and making a strong showing.  Smash Gold and White are undefeated and ranked 2/88 and 5/88 respectively.  Blue is 1-1 and ranked 17/88.  Smash Green, and White are learning fast and making great progress.  They are ranked 48th and 51st respectively.

We are excited by the team’s growth and cannot wait to see how far our team goes!

Speech/Debate is starting their official season this Saturday with a meet at Chatfield High School. Our team was brand new last year and did very well. We are looking for good things from them this year too.

Quick reminder:  Picture day, Tuesday, Oct 7, HS Gym. 3:30-4pm

This is for Boys Golf and eSports as you have new apparel to wear.  HS & MS eSports both should be photo ready!

Volleyball/Soccer/Cross Country:  If you have any seniors that missed the first shoot, they can come to this.

STEM HS Basketball (Boys & Girls) and MS Boys basketball registrations are open.  Here is the link to register:

STEM Basketball Registration

Also, do not forget you will need a current CHSAA Physical form (they are good for 1 year)

CHSAA Physical Link

All athletes MUST have a current physical on file with the school in order to practice or compete. Please use the registration link and use the official CHSAA Physical Form.

All STEM home athletic games are broadcast on the NFHS Network.  A subscription is needed to watch.  It is a streaming service, so Spartan (Volleyball/Basketball) games can be watched live or later ‘on demand’.  In fact you can watch any game broadcast on NFHS, including Spartan games where we are visiting other schools with cameras (we play at D’Evelyn, Vail Christian, Nederland, AWCP, Two Roads, Loveland Classical all have NFHS).  A subscription also is a nice gift for family members who live elsewhere, they only need internet access and a phone/tablet/computer/tv to watch.  STEM also gets a portion of the subscription fee!  To learn more or subscribe, got to:

Link:  https://www.stemspartanathletics.org/

Select Menu Option:  Fan Zone

From the drop down menu:  NFHS Live Stream

As always, STEM staff and students get in free to all regular season home games!

Let’s Go Spartans!!!!
